Likes Over Looks
Likes over Looks is a dating app for people who care more about a person’s personality and interests than their physical appearance. This app prototype was created with a focus on accessible design, specifically for those with body image disorders. Instead of focusing on pictures of prospective partners, users share their interests, pictures of their pets, and connect with people through conversation before seeing them. The process for making this app prototype started with studying the laws of UX, interviewing potential future users, creating user personas, mapping out flows and wireframing, and making the final prototype in AdobeXD.

Kara Dawkins
Kara is a fourth-year student at Lawrence Technological University pursuing a BFA in Graphic Design. She currently serve as the vice-president of LTU’s AIGA chapter, co-president of SpotlightCoAD (a student organization bringing together students from a variety of design disciplines and highlighting their work), and am a designer at Woodward & Willis (LTU’s student-led, faculty-directed design studio). As a designer, my main focus is in branding.
